Headway East Northants Activity Centre

Our superb activity centre offers a stimulating, inclusive and varied range of services, many of which are listed on our Home page.

As well as the fantastic activities outlined in our Home page (where you can see our rooms, including woodwork, art and art therapy, music, I.T, cookery and gardening), we also offer discussion and reminiscence sessions, engaging word puzzle sessions, our popular Peer Group, a weekly Ukelele Club and trips out and about, including weekly ten pin bowling sessions, shopping trips, nature walks, etc.

Our aim is to offer our clients the opportunity to socialise, try new things, help re-learn lost skills and integrate into the wider community, all of which we believe positively enhances personal wellbeing. Clients themselves speak of the "real family atmosphere" here at the Centre, something of which we are immensely proud.

Our service reflects our clients.

We really are a person-centred service that understands the complexities of 'the hidden disability' and the problems that may arise with cognitive, memory, communication and behaviour.

Each client is assessed individually, so that together, we can develop an individual learning plan for the client to support, enhance and empower their lives to the best they can be.

Amazing donation of £790 from East Northants Councillor, Roger Powell!

We are thrilled to have received an incredible donation of £790 from East Northants Councillor, Roger Powell, who has chosen to donate to us via his Empowerment Fund.

Councillor Powell was familiar with our work via Irthlingborough Town Council and got in touch to see how he could help. We spoke directly with our clients, asking for their input about any new purchases they could recommend to enhance our centre services.

We were very excited to place an order for several brand new Meccano and Lego modelling kits, professional art supplies, historical DVD sets and even a karaoke machine at the request of our clients!

We thank Councillor Powell sincerely for this wonderful donation to our centre!

We're delighted to announce that we've been chosen by Wellingborough Golf Club as one of two local charities the club wishes to support over 2019, the other being Wellibus!

Chairperson, Sally McKeown, got in touch and invited Becky along to a fundraising bridge drive back in December, and then to the ladies' club prizegiving supper, where Becky was able to meet fellow members and chat a little more indepth about the services we provide here at Headway East Northants.

The Club has lots of terrific events in the pipeline to help raise funds for us, including garden parties and a jazz afteroon in June, which we're told has ALREADY sold out! We are so grateful to the Club for selecting us to support in 2019, and look forward to working together.
