Virgin London Marathon 2019

If you are interested in running next year's Virgin London Marathon and would like to help raise funds for our charity, we would love to hear from you!

Team 'HEN' runners are asked to commit to raising a minimum of £1,250.00. In return, we'll do our best to support you with your fundraising, invite you to an information evening at our Irthlingborough office and invite you along to the Headway UK 'Pasta Party', which is held in London the night before the marathon. We will also supply you with a 'Team HEN' running top and we'll be there to cheer you on at the Headway UK 'Cheering Station' at mile 6.5, right near the Cutty Sark.

Forthcoming events closer to home

If the Virgin London Marathon is just a little on the daunting side, there are plenty of other runs and races coming up on the local calendar. Why not take up the challenge and run to fundraise for Headway East Northants?

These events include:

Santa Run, Stanwick Lakes, Sunday 25th November 2018

Santa Run & Walk, Abington Park, Northampton, 16th December 2018

If you hear of any other events, and indeed plan to take part in them, do let us know!

Virgin London Marathon 2018

This year's Virgin London Marathon was run on Sunday 22nd April 2018 and we were once again blessed with some amazing people who ran to raise funds for us. Team HEN not only ran the Marathon for us but also worked hard in their fundraising endeavours leading up to the big day, from bake sales to raffles to curry nights.

We once again enjoyed the fabulous 'Pasta Party' to fuel up the night before the race, and Claire and the team were there at the 6.5mile point Cheering Station (just past the Cutty Sark) to cheer on each and every one of our fabulous runners.

Our runners trained so hard and battled through the miles (not to mention nursing some eye-boggling blisters!). This year's Marathon raised a bumper amount for Headway East Northants, and we are thrilled to be able to use this to continue and develop our services, and to enrich and empower the lives of our wonderful clients.

Team HEN 2018 - from the bottom of our hearts, a huge THANK YOU!

AGM success!

A huge thank you to all who attended our AGM last Friday. We were delighted to host 28 guests at our Irthlingborough Centre, ranging from trustees, staff and volunteers through to clients, families, supporters and town councillors. We thoroughly enjoyed giving the opportunity to reflect on our activities over the previous year.

Information packs were provided and feedback so far suggests that attendees found the meeting informative, with good take-home value.

Here's to another great year ahead for Headway East Northants!

Headway Music Group rock the charity fundraiser!

An amazing night was had by all at the fundraising concert on Saturday 6th October, featuring facilitator Freyja, deputy manager Jonny, and the Headway Music Group, raising an incredible £405 EACH for both Headway East Northants and the Cransley Hospice!

The guys all performed  with others to raise funds for both Headway East Northants and the Cransley Hospice and the night was incredibly well-supported, with the venue packed to the rafters!

Well done to all involved, particularly to Freyja and partner Chris, who worked so hard to create such a professional gig, and of course, our amazing Headway clients for conquering their nerves and performing two songs LIVE!

Client Michael obtains Food Safety qualification!

Headway East Northants client, Michael, last week successfully completed an online course in Food Safety for Catering, and as a result, is now Level 2-qualified in Food Handling.

Michael enjoys both our cookery sessions and I.T here at Headway East Northants, so combining the two together was a win-win!

Huge congratulations to Michael on this terrific achievement!
