Raising money for Headway East Northants by running the Virgin London Marathon

What an incredible experience for us all in this year's Virgin London Marathon 2019. Each and every runner did a phenomenal job, not only with all the hard work they put into their physical training but also their increidble fundraising efforts - alongside juggling work and family commitments too. We couldn't be prouder, and are so grateful that the guys chose Headway East Northants to support!

We're already receiving lots of enquiries about places for the Virgin London Marathon 2020, and spaces are rapidly filling up! If you are interested in running to raise funds for Headway East Northants, then we would love to hear from you.

Not only will you be fulfilling an incredible personal challenge, but you'll also be helping raise funds for our charity to empower and enrich the lives of adults with acquired brain injury, as well as providing invaluable support and respite to their families.

The Virgin London Marathon is a truly special event, and from the moment a runner secures a place, we'll be there for them every step of the way, keeping in touch regularly to ensure that our runners are confident and well-supported.

The quotes below from our runners say it all, we think!

"I want to send huge thanks to everyone at Headway East Northants for the very special 'good luck' card. I felt quite emotional when reading it, and would love you to convey my thanks to everyone there. It will definitely help me with my last bits of training, and even more so on the day when I'll have time to reflect on waht I am doing, and why.  Thank you for your continued support, and to everyone at Headway for being so kind."

Suzie Watts, 2018 Marathon runner, who later described her experience with the Marathon as "life-changing".

"Thank you very much fo the Team UPN Certificate that arrived the other day! It is taking pride of place on my office wall! It was great to be involved in Team HEN, the best marathon build-up and experience yet!"

Andrew Spencer, UPN Director and Marathon runner

Changes will come into force on 30th August 2019.

An excellent 'Way Ahead' conference

We thoroughly enjoyed attending this year's 'Way Ahead' conference in early July. It was the ideal opportunity to share viewpoints and see the diverse range of services provided for those managing ABI. We also got to meet MP for Rhondda, Chris Bryant, who has been working incredibly hard in parliament to improve aftercare and neuro paths for those with ABI and their loved ones.
