The Virgin London Marathon and running for Headway East Northants

If you are interested in running in next year's Virgin London Marathon and helping raise funds for Headway East Northants, then we'd love to hear from you.

Not only will you be fulfilling an incredible personal challenge, but you'll also be helping raise funds for our charity to empower and enrich the lives of our clients, as well as providing invaluable support and respite to their families.

The Virgin London Marathon is a truly special event, and from the moment a runner secures a place, we'll be there for them every step of the way, keeping in touch regularly to ensure that they are confident and well-supported.

The quotes below from our runners say it all, we think!

"I want to send huge thanks to everyone at Headway East Northants for the very special 'good luck' card. I felt quite emotional when reading it, and would love you to convey my thanks to everyone there. It will definitely help me with my last bits of training, and even more so on the day when I'll have time to reflect on waht I am doing, and why.  Thank you for your continued support, and to everyone at Headway for being so kind."

Suzie Watts, 2018 Marathon runner, who later described her experience with the Marathon as "life-changing".

"Thank you very much fo the Team UPN Certificate that arrived the other day! It is taking pride of place on my office wall! It was great to be involved in Team HEN, the best marathon build-up and experience yet!"

Andrew Spencer, UPN Director and Marathon runner

AGM success!

A huge thank you to all who attended our AGM last Friday. We were delighted to host 28 guests at our Irthlingborough Centre, ranging from trustees, staff and volunteers through to clients, families, supporters and town councillors. We thoroughly enjoyed giving the opportunity to reflect on our activities over the previous year.

Information packs were provided and feedback so far suggests that attendees found the meeting informative, with good take-home value.

Here's to another great year ahead for Headway East Northants!

Headway Music Group rock the charity fundraiser!

An amazing night was had by all at the fundraising concert on Saturday 6th October, featuring facilitator Freyja, deputy manager Jonny, and the Headway Music Group, raising an incredible £405 EACH for both Headway East Northants and the Cransley Hospice!

The guys all performed  with others to raise funds for both Headway East Northants and the Cransley Hospice and the night was incredibly well-supported, with the venue packed to the rafters!

Well done to all involved, particularly to Freyja and partner Chris, who worked so hard to create such a professional gig, and of course, our amazing Headway clients for conquering their nerves and performing two songs LIVE!

Client Michael obtains Food Safety qualification!

Headway East Northants client, Michael, last week successfully completed an online course in Food Safety for Catering, and as a result, is now Level 2-qualified in Food Handling.

Michael enjoys both our cookery sessions and I.T here at Headway East Northants, so combining the two together was a win-win!

Huge congratulations to Michael on this terrific achievement!
