Headway East Northants Activity Centre

If you, or someone close to you, has sustained a brain injury, Headway East Northants is right here for you. Alongside practical information, we are also on hand to help with finances and related paperwork, and also for emotional support, not only for the survivor but also for families and loved ones.

We understand that acquiring a brain injury can be devastating, creating a severe impact on families.

We also understand that a brain injury can affect different people in different ways. We ensure that each and every person referred to us are assessed individually, so that we can provide precisely what that person will need.

Our Activity Centre here in Irthlingborough offers a superb range of stimulating, fun and varied services, activities and outings. We pride ourselves on being a 'person-centred' service who understand the complexities of 'the hidden disability' and the problems that may arise with cognitive, memory, communication and behaviour. Amazing donation of £790 from East Northants Councillor, Roger Powell!

We are thrilled to have received an incredible donation of £790 from East Northants Councillor, Roger Powell, who has chosen to donate to us via his Empowerment Fund.

Councillor Powell was familiar with our work via Irthlingborough Town Council and got in touch to see how he could help. We spoke directly with our clients, asking for their input about any new purchases they could recommend to enhance our centre services.

We were very excited to place an order for several brand new Meccano and Lego modelling kits, professional art supplies, historical DVD sets and even a karaoke machine at the request of our clients!

We thank Councillor Powell sincerely for this wonderful donation to our centre!

Wellingborough Golf Club chooses HEN as a charity to support over 2019!

We're delighted to announce that we've been chosen by Wellingborough Golf Club as one of two local charities the club wishes to support over 2019, the other being Wellibus!

Chairperson, Sally McKeown, got in touch and invited Becky along to a fundraising bridge drive back in December, and then to the ladies' club prizegiving supper, where Becky was able to meet fellow members and chat a little more indepth about the services we provide here at Headway East Northants.

The Club has lots of terrific events in the pipeline to help raise funds for us, including garden parties and a jazz afteroon in June, which we're told has ALREADY sold out! We are so grateful to the Club for selecting us to support in 2019, and look forward to working together.
